Individual solicitors have a personal duty to recognise potential conflicts, whether working in regulated firms, unregulated entities, or on a freelance basis. There is no single objective test to determine whether or not there is a conflict of interest so identifying potential conflicts in differing scenarios is a judgement for you and your practice and one that you will need to be able to justify should you decide to act.
This course will help solicitors and those who work in legal firms to identify and understand the different types of conflicts of interests and what to do when a conflict is identified.
This course will cover;
What does the SRA define as a Conflict of Interest?
Own Interest Conflict and Client Conflict
Can a firm act where there is an identified conflict?
What requirements must be met if there is an identified conflict of interest?
This online course is suitable for staff of all levels, from support staff to senior partners.
Comprehensive and up to date course notes will be provided to all delegates which may be useful for ongoing reference or cascade training.
Please note a recording of the course will not be made available.
